New Year!

Wow, 2020 has been a year unlike any other I can remember and I would hazard a guess that the same goes for you too. We've completely changed the way in which we do day to day life, spent more time in our homes than ever before and learnt to appreciate some of the more simple things in life. Although it has been difficult for many of us, it has also been a time of reflection and realisation.

So, onto the blog! I know we haven't been posting as frequently as we did at the start of lockdown but, as part of the classing 'new year, new me' kind of outlook, I have decided to commit to publishing a blog every week in 2021 (with an occasional extra every now and then!).

I wanted to take the opportunity to remind us that with a new year comes new opportunities. The Bible teaches us that we have 'seasons' in life. Not the conventional seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter but seasons of life and circumstances. I recently read this verse in Timothy and was reminded of the fact that our seasons and circumstances shouldn't dictate our responses.

2 Timothy 4:2

2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Throughout this year it's been too easy for me to cave under the pressure of my circumstances, to let my personal relationship with God slip at times and to be unprepared for what God has asked me to do. I'm not one to make new years resolutions, but this year I am making the resolution that I will be prepared to preach the word both in and out of season. I hope that we can all say that together we will be prepared, regardless of our circumstances, to fulfil the plans that God has for us.

Happy New Year!
