God will fight for you!

Do you ever feel like you’re fighting a losing battle? Just lately I’ve been struggling with some situations in work and I’ve been finding it hard to motivate myself to keep battling with them. At times I’ve felt like there has been a real breakthrough and then all of a sudden it’s like everything is back to square one.
The following verse has been instrumental to me and has given me a fresh perspective and approach to some of the things I’ve been encountering:
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 NIV
It also happens that it’s the Bible App verse of the day today!
This wasn’t a new revelation for me or a great breakthrough in my understanding of scripture but instead it was a plain and simple reminder that reinforced some of the principles in my life that I had begun to let slide.
The words “you need only to be still” have reminded me that the only person getting in the way of God taking the situations I’ve been praying about and shaping them has been me. My own frustration and reliance on my own strength has got in the way of God resolving things that I had been asking him to. All I had to do was stop rushing around and be still!
Sometimes we can be too busy to realise what God is doing and sometimes we can get in the way of His plans by replacing them with our own.
My prayer for myself and others is that we can be still and allow God to fight our battles. He’s waiting and ready and sometimes we just need to move out of the way.
